In 2009 we bred our first Shetland foal Owlca Dark Japonica who went on to win Reserve Champion Foal for the Shetland Pony Breeders' Society Awards, 2009 period and Champion foal at the Canterbury Breeders Show.

We have Choisa Fairfax in partnership with Stoney Croft stud, who is the best combination of masculinity and approachability. With his previous foals having his personality, he will be an excellent contribution to our stud, where we aim to breed ponies with temperament, excellent conformation and correct movement.

We also have Koolangatha Mirage the oldest living registered stallion in NZ, who has come through the winter like a man half his age. Mirage turns 31 this birthday, and still loves his dinner, scratches and whistling at the ladies.

Gleneagles Scotch Whisky Reg. 457NZ

Whisky is that once in a lifetime pony. Whisky has done in-hand shows, including winning gelding classes and had placing in Best Paced despite his diminutive 8.1 hh. He has won under saddle and come second In-Hand show jumping at the National Shetland Show. Whisky has travelled from Auckland to the West Coast of the North Island in one day and Auckland to Canterbury and back in a weekend. He looks forward to the float, runs on with excitement and has loaded in the dark without slowing or backing off once. Whisky is a trained member of Auckland's SPCA and St. John joint venture ‘Outreach Therapy Pets’, where he has gone into buildings, including Christchurch Cathedral and the ASB Showground’s in Greenlane, traversed flights of stairs and stood at bedsides in the dementia Ward in a large Resthome. He has campaigned for prominent pet shops on open days and been a highlight at the Special Children’s Christmas Party.
One of Whisky's many talents is his ability not be phased by anything. Highlights include fancy dress costumes that covered his face and eyes, plastic items being tied to his tail, Christmas Santa parades, being ridden by a dog, and an INSIDE birthday party! Whisky is trained in cart and under saddle, and has been ridden by children as young as one, and fully grown adults — although he did refuse to trot for adults. In the paddock Whisky hangs out with colts, mares, donkeys, full size horses, and any other livestock. He loves his food, especially chocolate chip muffins, and enjoys cuddles and pats any time. Whisky is that one in a million pony and thanks must go to Sue Jackson, of Gleneagles Shetland Stud in Pukekohe for breeding him, and creating an addiction for this fabulous breed.
