Photos from AGM 2009

It might have been a very cold weekend weather wise, but there was plenty of warmth in the people.

Andrea & Ian Price's Beechgrove Shetland Stud

top photo: First thing on Saturday morning was a delicious morning tea and then a photo shot with Cotswold Aristocrat standing like a statue.

next two photos: Looking at the ponies at Beechgrove Stud with Andrea giving a commentary and answering questions about the ponies.

Marianne and Baxter Smith's for a tasty lunch

below: Tara Homestay is set in a beautiful garden with neatly clipped hedges.

next photo down: Baxter's hunter Barney towered over the two Shetlands owned by Marianne. They also have three friendly donkeys and a foal. Barney jumps anything with Baxter in the saddle but never goes over a hot wire — below knee height — on his own.

The Annual General Meeting @ The Galleon

Elspeth Robinson cut the cake made and donated Shona Cusack to mark the 30th year of the NZ Shetland Pony Breeders’ Society Inc.

Visit to Totata Estate

A very interesting visit here. Wonderful old Limestone buildings and museum preserving the history of where the first shipment of lamb to England came from and how people lived in 1882.
We were split into groups and given a guclassed tour and shown a vclasseo on the birth and development of NZs meat industry. The genuine billy tea and scones were all the nicer for having endured the freezing conditions as we walked from and through the various buildings. The photos show people in your web manager's group watching a vclasseo.

Visit to Icelandic Ponies

Baxter Smith (leading pony) rclassing one of the Icelandic ponies on Sunday morning in freezing conditions. They have the same genetic makeup as Shetland Ponies and like the Shetland Pony, the breed has remained pure for thousands of years.

Great Lunch at Shona and Andy Cusack's

They have two lovely Shetland ponies
