Holly and her pony Penny (Phoenix Park Penelope)

Hi, my name is Holly and I am 10 years old. I have a wee 2 yr old Shetland filly called Penny. A week or two ago, we went to the beach at Kawhia and took the horses. This was Penny's first time at the beach. She got off the horse float and went straight to tasting everything around, including drinking the salty sea water! Penny wasn't scared of the water and went straight in. We crossed the estuary and back and at one point she almost had to swim! After that we ran down the beach leading her and she was cantering and tried to gallop but I wouldn't let her because my legs were too slow! We all had a great time and were very tired when we got home.
